18FDG Reporters Training

Radiologists

This course is designed to support Consultant Radiologists’ professional development to report PET-CT scans successfully.

This course is designed to support Consultant Radiologists’ professional development to report PET-CT scans successfully. The Christie PET-CT Academy provides a learning platform designed to support consultant radiologists and radiology fellows trained in cross-sectional computed tomographic imaging to gain the necessary skills and experience to become an 18FDG PET-CT reporting radiologist.

Upon completion of this course, you will have a clear understanding of evidence-based use of PET-CT imaging in the clinical settings and be able to confidently read, interpret, report and review PET-CT scans. At the end of the training, you will have reported a total of approximately 400 to 600 cases (retrospective and 300 mentored prospective).

You will complete self-learning using e-learning modules on the Royal College of Radiographers Learning Hub. After you’ve completed all of the modules, you will then have access to a comprehensive and challenging set of teaching cases with assessments aimed to cover all the key learning points of that module on the Academy’s learning platform.
Once the online modules and review of assessment cases  are complete, you are required to report 46 retrospective training cases. There are six cases per list and each reported list is sent to your supervisor for feedback. After you have completed your retrospective reporting (both training and assessment), you will be given access to the live system and begin your supervised reporting of 300 cases.
